Through an official statement dated May 4, 2026, the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador announced through its social media channels that it will reduce the security fee to 75% for imports from Colombia. This measure will enter into force on June 1, 2026.

Likewise, it was reported that this decision reaffirms the National Government’s openness to advancing bilateral cooperation mechanisms in security matters, promoting greater coordination between both countries and strengthening the development of the border area.
